Tennis Club Equipment
The Tennis Shed
The tennis shed is located behind court 4. The shed remains locked at night and generally during the day. Current club members are provided access to the shed and the equipment stored inside the shed.
Inside the Shed
Items found in the shed:
Two ball machines
Baskets of balls for instruction and practice.
Court cleaning equipment
Tools
Miscellaneous items used by the club throughout the year
Ball Machines
The two ball machines may be used by current club members during non-prime time hours. Courts 3 & 4 may be reserved for ball machine use. Electrical outlets are available at the side of the courts. You’ll find a piece of carpeting with the machine, to be placed in front of the ball machine to keep ball dust off of the court surface. An experienced player will be pleased to provide instructions for using the settings. Note: Be sure to put the remote control back with the ball machine when finished!
Ball Sweeper
A real back saver, these sweepers come in handy. The sweepers are usually stored outside of the fence behind court 3. The arms fold inward to allow for rolling through the doorways. Just push the black buttons on the side to release the arms.

National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP)
Developed in 1978, the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) is a classification system that identifies and describes general characteristics of tennis-playing ability. Its purpose is to enable play among individuals with similar playing abilities. The NTRP General Characteristics Guide outlines the abilities of each level from 1.5 (beginner) through 7.0 (touring pro). Generally, USTA League offers programs for the 2.5 through 5.0 levels.

Self-Rating for USTA Leagues
When a player is new to the USTA system, they can complete a self-rating survey to be issued a self-rated NTRP rating.
Within the Adult tennis league season or for a tournament that a player enters, the match play is recorded by the USTA. At the end of the year these results are used to calculate each player’s NTRP rating for the next year.
The goal is to find players at your level with which to enjoy a competitive game of tennis.
